Biohazard 1.5 is dead. Rising out of it's ashes, it Biohazard: Survivors, a multiplayer Coop mod for HL2.
In a sense, its Biohazard 1.5, Online.
You could be an average citizen fighting to stay alive or a special forces operative sent in to eradicate all traces of the T-Virus, it all depends on the scenario. Expect the usual Biohazard camera system and the inventory system. Anyway..

After a year of development the time has finally come to unleash Mod Database v2. Whilst the new site will appear similar to the present one, it has undergone over 200 changes. Each of these was implemented to carry this site onto bigger and better things. Here are the notable updates:
    • New design (easier on the eyes)

    • Mod tutorials section (at last!!)

    • Support for multiple languages

    • Support for multiple templates

    • New super-control panel for ALL members

    • Better / more accurate search systems

    • New permission system (cater for more staff members)

    • New accurate mod rating system

    • Cleaner mod listing

On the 25th of September, the Mod Database will be updated. There is a scheduled downtime here of 2 hours, however given that 25,000 images have to be updated and 1,100,000 database records have to be shifted about, this may take longer or something may go horribly wrong. Rest assured there will be a massive party / gathering in #moddb on irc.gamesurge.net so join in for the latest news.

I am certain everyone will agree v2 is a radical improvement and has improved this site in every way possible. I for one cannot wait, things will be getting serious around here so sit back, relax and get ready for the ride.

It's my birthday, yay. I'm now 22 and another year closer to my deaf.

In this special birthday mood (and because I'm quite happy I now have a 17" TFT monitor and a 6800GT) I've decided to go back and finalise a few of my maps for Jolt. A server community that still actually plays them and is even considering op_overlord! The full list of changes then, is thus:

    Theonlywayisup
Will remove pointless pr0n and the whole frogger bit to try and combat the entity problem. Doubt I'll make any other changes, I like the map as it is, though I may add in a little secret or something to keep people happy. I hate releasing revisions for no reason. The frogger section may be enough to make its own 'fun' map, though I'm not sure if such a map has been done yet.

    Cube
I might release a special Cube_noconc edition quickly because I already have it created for halflife singleplayer (for a competition a while back). Then it could go on fun servers that aren't fussy about concing. I don't really think this is worthwhile but a few people suggested it and it'll require minimum effort.

    Op_Overlord
The veritable map indeed, I really want to go beyond a 'release candidate' version of this and just go ahead and release it. Jolt seemed interested in putting it up so I'll polish up the buggy first map and change how the maps rotate so that admins can choose how they wish them played, rather than in sequential order to the last map without choice. I'll probably have to remove the grappling hooks I'm afraid, as well as the camera sequence. But although a nice gimmick, I think the sequence could be done a bit better.

Anything else that needs revising I'll have a look at too. Although I have heard halflife2 is out soon, this is just a final push before the death of TFC to get my maps played. Should only take the weekend.

A small media update has been posted -- the haul this time consists of four map shots and the promised story update. The shots are of chapters 1 and 9, and are a mix of updated versions and entirely new material. You can view the new screenshots here and the new story content here. The next update will likely be to the Info section and should be happening during the coming week, so look for that.

Also, certain people who have e-mailed us at the personnel or contact addresses since late August may have noticed a significant delay in responses. This was due to a huge backlog of applicants as well as some legitimate messages, particularly to the contact address, being incorrectly classified as spam. Most of the delayed mail has been replied to; if you haven't received a response, please resend your message as it may not have reached us.
