I just got word from the folks over at Rivals: Organized Crime Redefined that they are not dead and that they have found a new home. Check them out. They also sent me a nice render of some of the weapons in the mod.

Hey everyone. Here's another small update from the WoME team for you to enjoy. Here we have the modeled weapons based off Eric's Moria Orc weapons concepts (from the last update), modeled by SgtStu:

And here we have two extra concepts, again by Eric Touchette:

We'll have more later.

With a span the size of Texas and the pace of an afternoon stroll, Frances seemed likely to leave its footprints over virtually the entire state during its multiday trek. Frances was expected to sweep into the Panhandle today, and although it has been downgraded to a tropical storm, the prospect was enough to spur evacuations in four counties there.

Now spinning tropical storm-force winds over a 200-mile swath, Frances is expected to emerge as a low-grade hurricane in the Panhandle, south of Tallahassee, this afternoon. It is expected to dump between 8 and 15 inches of rain in the capital, which has already lost power in some areas because of tree debris from wind gusts.

In Palm Beach County, the storm left knee-high water in parts of West Palm Beach, snapped off the Lake Worth Pier, swamped part of Interstate 95 near North Palm Beach and sucked a West Palm Beach portion of the highway into a sinkhole. It scattered debris, swamped some streets and caused extensive outages in Broward County.

Meanwhile, weary and waterlogged Floridians began to emerge from shuttered houses and hurricane shelters, which were still housing more than 400,000 statewide on Sunday night. Some in South Florida had spent as many as three nights on gym floors and in school hallways, hiding out from a storm that took its time arriving.

And so now the cleanup begins. As we now return to the station to survey the damage and cleanup the aftermath of this powerful storm, we have you in mind. We will do our best to be up and ready for broadcast by this comming weekend but we do not know the extent of the damage yet. And it looks like hurricane Ivan is now on the way for yet another hurricane party in Florida. This MUST be kind of like spring break for hurricanes and we are the IN destination! Keep checking back for more news as this story continues to develop.

We are proud to announce our long awaited Steam release.
We have produced loads of new content, in both modelling and mapping.

Let me start off with the Orks and the Imperial Guard.
ChromeAngel and Bahl created the last missing character for the Orkish Horde, the awesome Warboss. You can take a look at him through the link attached below.

His sworn enemies ( the Imperial Guard ) now have two new weapons against him, the Powersword and the Laspistol, created by Crusader and ChromeAngel.
While we know that this won't be enough to face this monster of an Ork, Straken and ChromeAngel created a new vehicle for the Imperial Guard: The Sentinel.

However, this stuff is only anticipated to be released at some time in the future. Here is something that is already included with the brand new release:

The map rs_de_landingzone by our new mapper Dark Marine. He created a beach-head, where dropships have landed.
Players, that join the side of the Iron Warriors, will embarge those dropships on a battlecruiser. They then land at the beach and fight against the honourable Black Templars, that must defend a base that guards a power station of crucial importance.
You can take a look at one sight of this map below:

You can also witness the ongoing battle between the factions named above on the map rs_ac_fortress by Bahl.
On this map, the Iron Warriors have captured an orbital cannon, which was installed for defence against attacking spacecraft. Now the Black Templars have to regain control over this cannon, to use it against the fleet of the Iron Warriors.
You can find images of this map at our official homepage at http://www.rivalspecies.com/.
There you will also find screenshots and renders of many more of our current projects,:

- the upcoming map rs_ca_rust by Korkonius
- new weapons for the Alaitoc Eldar and the World Eaters by ChromeAngel
- the Wraith, a new Character by ChromeAngel for the 'Species' of the Necrons.

And of course you will find links to mirrors of our brand new version. So go, get it and join the battle!

Warhammer40K, Black Templars, Iron Warriors, Alaitoc Eldar and other trademarks by Games Workshop Ltd. are used without permission.

Megel let me know that he's finished the model for the Northern Faction's bomber aircraft. All I can say is that it's incredible! Just take a look: Diagram / Ordnance Bay / Rear View. It's times like these that I can't help but realize what incredible talent we have assembled here. Excellent work! Our german fan site has also posted up two exclusive pictures showing work in progress of the Northern Faction vehicle factory.

I'd like to welcome two new members to the team, KarlThePagan, who will helping out in the programming department, and TheChainsawProject, who will be utilizing his talents in the sound effects department. TCP was so moved by Megel's bomber model that he just had to channel his excitement into the creation of its sound effects. Welcome to the team!

I also want to mention an interesting discussion that one of our testers, Jasper, started on the forum regarding the recent talk of the tech tree. He went ahead and created a very detailed and thought out diagram of a possible tech tree for the vehicles which we're now dissecting. If you have any thoughts on the subject, please stop by and comment.

The CPL released today the Winter 2003 Championship coverage filmed by Gamer.tv and aired earlier this year on several television networks worldwide. Mixing reviews of the latest games and exclusive news and previews, Gamer.tv is the world’s leading weekly magazine show dedicated to video games.
The film focuses on the $100,000 Counter-Strike tournament and includes team profiles, tournament bracket highlights, team interviews and in-game footage. Video and sound quality are top-notch making the file a whopping 300MB compressed. Only broadband users should attempt to download this file.

I would like to let everyone know we are still alive. We have completed an incredible amount of work on the Conceptual Design Plan. We will upload these additions and changes fairly soon for everyone to read over and give us feedback. We have a little something for the Half-Life 2 community to be shown in the near future, we are pretty sure everyone will enjoy it.

In the mean time be sure to check out the forums as they are getting mighty popular and quite entertaining.

Yours Truly (Morgan) only recently arrived at SUNY Oswego, the college I will be calling home for the next 4 years. Things are very hectic, so I won't be able to work at my full capacity until I have everything settled. As a matter of fact, I don't even know what room I'm supposed to be sleeping in tonight! That’s how hectic things are. I should have everything plugged in (again) sometime by Monday. Also, I left my external HD with all the backed up files on it back in my home town 6 hours from here, and I don't have a car to go drive down and get it.

In other words, Alec (Strap) Is now Second in Command. He'll be the guy to talk to in my near absence.

What does this mean for WOTA? Not a damn thing, the project is still going strong. If you haven't already, go check out the forums. The WIP section shows some of the new stuff that isn't even in the armory pages.

I suggest you check out the forums already, all the cool kids are doing it!

P.S. The clean AK47 and clean Beretta 92f Silver are almost done :D
