Rick, Commando's new modeler has finished the Combat Knife model. The Combat Knife is Commando's basic melee weapon and it is used for quickly eliminating enemy infantry.

The Commando site recently moved to a new host. Now the site can be directly accessed at www.cnccommando.com. The old server Commando was hosted on was getting tight on space so I decided it was time to move on.

"Today, you go to work as normal, and begin typing the weekly security report. Suddenly, the paper in your hand turns to dust. A powerful sense of deja vu comes over you, followed by dizziness. You make your way to the restroom, to splash some cold water on your face. As you look in the mirror, the walls begin to ripple. The dizziness overcomes you, and you lose consciousness. When you come to, you are no longer in the clean corporate washroom. Cockroaches and rats cover the disgusting wall and..."

A new mod has sprung upon us to take part on the Half-Life 2 Engine. The technology contained in this game should advance this mod to create a horrifying and disturbing adventure game. This current projust is entitled Desolation. From the name, this mod will bring players into the world of ruin and disaster, all created from mind crawling thoughts and events from the dreams created in sleep. And in this dream shall create the real world of this city of desolation. For more details and information on this mod please check our website, which will hopefully bring you, oh quite the joy. We also have our forums up. Thank you.

Greetings. We have a number of new pieces below, including our finally finished Paladin. Earlier this week after discussion with some of the 3D team members and wise HL2 fans, we decided to lower all of our item and weapon polygon counts to around 500, which is very low in comparison to in-game HL2 items. The reason for this is that our project, being 3rd person, it isn't very critical for in-game items aside from characters. Another factor was our game having big battles on the screen, with human players (and their detailed eye candy models) buying lower detailed NPC's. This, in combonation with high detailed weapons, would cause most lower-end computers to crash. Expect new re-modeled weapons later this week.

Aside from that, we welcome anyone who has suggestions on combat systems or any other subject pertaining to Kingdom Lost. In our search to complete our design document, we ended up doing lots of revisions and hiring design staff, and coming up with many ideas and theories. We're going to take a professional approach and compile all of our discussions and conslusions for the benefit of the community, and hopefully others. We like to call this "Kingdom Labs". Technically speaking, Kingdom Labs is the design and research division of Kingdom Lost, but there isn't much more on the subject. We'll have it all on our new website.

We're in the process of designing a new website, which will have loads of goodies for everyone!

Below is some new media. The Staff renders are still about 1000 polygons, but we're working on how to reduce the polycount and keep the models pretty.

Enjoy!

As promised yesterday, we will be releasing some great media today, as usual. This week I can finally introduce one of our new additions to the team with some media. Our very own zinge has been working on this model for nearly a month. It was a hard and grueling process, but it turned out great, and he is now officially part of the team. Shout out to zinge and his great UTF Bomber model.

And in breaking news, FPSCentral.com has done a special preview on ES, and included in it is an interview with me, so check that out here. There are 2 more interviews coming, and the we're saving to best for last, so stay tuned to the last 2, because they have lots of info. Thats it for this week, next sunday is halloween, and the 2 year anniversary of ES, so we will be releasing more media then!

*Update by Iced_Eagle*

First of all, I would like to give a big shout out to all the fans! Over this week, I've been to many forums, and I've seen some great comments about our mod! That's fantastic! Anyways, now onto the meat of this update!

Remember that totally kick-ass testing server we told you about in last weeks update? Well, we've played CS:S on it, allowed our beta testers to play CS:S on it, but don't you wish you could play on that server? Well now you can!

Here is the info, have fun on it, play nice, and hopefully you will see some of us developers on there! Don't feel shy to say hello to us either!

I apologize for the lack of news last week.

This week saw some changes come to the team.

First off, we have to say good-bye to Warhead, one of our most active members. Working towards his career aspirations has left him with little time for other projects. With that in mind, the whole team wishes him the best.

On a more positive note, we have a new modeler. Cromo’s work can be found in our forums, and it is definitely worth checking out. He is currently working on modeling the JEC military units.

Thanks everyone for your time this week.

Stay tuned. Changes to the site are coming very soon.
