The Resistance and Liberation Mod (http://www.resistanceandliberation.com) for Half-Life 2 has updated it's media page with brand new media that includes reskinned weapons such as the US Colt 1911A1, M1 Garand, and the German Maschinenpistole(MP)-40. We also have updated renders of some of our vehicles such as the German Tiger-1, Opel "Blitz" Truck, and Halftrack that now include normal mapping to bring out detail. Lastly we have a brand new model of the US C47 aircraft.

The online compiler for both plugins and the main page can now compile 0.20 plugins as well as 0.16.

This should encourage people to start posting 0.20 compatible plugins and to write code that works with the rather picky 2.5.1 version of Small.

If a plugin compiles on 0.20 and not 0.16 - it's not broken! It probably only works on 0.20. So don't downvote things because you aren't up to date.

Enjoy!

Also note two things:
1. The next nightly build cycle will have a fixed amxxsc
2. The cause of many 0.20-2.5.1 crashes of the compiler was found - variable names that are too long (20+ characters

Dear, our loveliest The Trenches Community.

The first step of bringing the Page back online is done. But as you see, it's not done at all. We took most of the
subsites down due the outdated backups we have, but we promise they'll be up again soon.

The forums use the standard skin, because like the rest of the page, our backups are outdated and we're waiting for the backups from e-frag that could still take some time, 'cause of
the process of data recovering that e-frag is going through at the moment. But we're quite near to completion of the mod, and I promise, we'll give you some very NEW media very, very, soon.

And we are very sorry for the Downtime, and the downsized page we're presenting you at the moment.

Be prepared for some very cool and nice updates soon.

Sincerly, TT Team.

Rather interesting..
HomeLAN - How much access did Valve Software give you to write the book?

David Hodgson - All the access I wished. Really, this book couldn't have been possible without the help and support of Valve. It began with a meeting where Doug Lombardi, myself, and my Prima boss had all these ideas that were tossed about. Doug had some really cool plans for how a "coffee table" style book would work, and we ran with the plan of making a history of Valve, plus an art book, and merging them together into a tome around the size of a phone directory, but with a hardback cover and glossy paper.

After the meeting, which occurred last September, I began a series of interviews with all the members of the team. This included Marc, Gabe, Ken, Bill Van Buren, John Guthrie... basically all the members of the different Cabals. We had interviews that lasted around a couple of hours for each team member (although some were clumped together, such as the TFC team), and then we followed up with emails. I then visited Valve on five more occasions between September and July 2004 to speak with more members of the team, tidy up loose ends, and work with Jess Cliffe on where the stacks and stacks of art were going to be placed in the book. At last count, there's around 1000 images in there.

Obviously, we had to halt production on the book in October due to the theft, but once that was sorted out, I was able to fit around the team's schedule and ask anyone anything I wished. This is an officially licensed book, so Valve helped me every step of the way.

Here is a new interview done by the folks over at FPS Central for Stargate: Broken Oath.
FPSCentral: Hi there, so introduce yourself and tell us what role you play in the Stargate: Broken Oath mod.

Neo_ad: Well my role is Head Project Leader to over see everyone on the team, you might say the one that keeps us from going round in a never ending circle of they want to do this until the big foot comes down. I also tend to make the final decision to stop us going crazy J. I also head up the mappers section too, so all in all I am very very busy with the mod in my spare time J

Zeuss: Im Zeuss, the Co-Leader, of Stargate: Brokenoath with Neo_ad (although he is the true leader if you want stuff done), I also map, and hopefully code as well.

Well surprise surprise, I'm bringing you guys a little update. Its been well over 2 months since we have released any media but the team has been hard at work. Today's update is pretty small, but it comes with an assurance that theres more to come in more fields than just art. The team now has a brand new design document tackling many of problems and unanswered questions in our previous document. We have lots of stuff to show you, but we're going to release it in pieces. This week we have the UTF Grenade Launcher and NGM Bomber concepts both done by dete. Models coming next week. Here they are:

NGM Bomber Concept by Dete

UTF Grenade Launcher Concept by Dete

That's it for now, but as previously stated, theres much more to come including music and a story update, so stay tuned.

Download: Hostile Intent 1.3.5 Patch
It's finally ready, after coming within minutes of release yesterday a couple last minute bugs made us wait till tonight. Currently only the patch version is available so you must have 1.3 INSTALLED previously. The file weights in at 36MB. There are many updates, small and big. We'll be putting together a changelog soon, as well as working on a full installer. Make sure to post your opinions on our forums.

The Linux update is being compiled and will be available shortly. If you upload it to a mirror please leave the URL in the comments section of this post and I'll update the news accordingly.

Here's a list of some of the changes on the coding side of things:
  • fixed corpses changing to ghille suit model when a player disconnects

  • fixed connecting player not being placed under "Spectators" on the scoreboard

  • new burst fire system (hold the trigger to fire the whole burst)

  • if you switch weapons while priming a grenade, you drop it

  • decreased weapon switch delay slightly

  • increased prone mouse speed a bit

  • new walk and strafe animations

  • added walk_backwards and crouch_walk_backwards animations

  • added next_rof and prev_rof commands (cycles through the fire modes without looping from auto -> safe, for example)

  • the ROF the player had set at the end of the previous round is now remembered when the next round starts

  • a player who has been kicked by a vote too many times gets banned (max vote kicks and ban duration set by server)

  • added sv_maxvotekicks and sv_votebanlength to control the above point

  • added bullet penetration

  • All server log messages have been updated to use Steam IDs instead of WON IDs

  • fixed team selection vgui not coming up automatically after map change

  • disabled cl_bob, cl_bobcycle, and cl_bobup

  • added variable hi_roundbreak; allows server to set the amount of time between rounds (default 3 seconds)

  • added the back/forward arrows to the team selection menu. back = close, forward = auto team

  • added a toggle crouch command. Bind a key to "duck_t", or use the controls menu.

  • many other small fixes and tweaks

Here's a nice wallpaper for your guys viewing pleasure. It's featuring Valves HL2 logo. This is a collaboration of efforts from the whole team, main thanks goes to elkz for dragging this all together. We have provided the wallpaper in 3 different flavours for you guys. The resolution in the news post is 1280 x 1024. For the other resolutions look in the media gallery.

The skin is produced by Sapien and is a concept colour scheme for a raged T-Rex. Note that this is concept, and the model is actually being altered. So enjoy this.
