I'm the founder and project leader of BattleForce: Conquest and as you all might have guessed I looking for a number of people to join up to create the core team that will create it. The design document is finished, a webpage have been started as well forum so all that left is the release of HL2 and some more people to join the team

Battleforce: Conquest is a multiplayer first person modification for HL2 set in a futuristic world where 2 species fight to survive in a harsh age were massive firepower and knowledge is the only way to victory. With the help of high tech weapons, abilities and vehicles players will wage war in war torn cities, waste battlefields and military zones.

Battleforce: Conquest will be a team-based shooter and will have three game types, Capture The Flag, Capture And Hold and Assault And Defense. Each of those three has close connections to what we feel are teamplay, with the help of a variety of tools each team can cook up a large number of tactics without being forced to follow the mainstream.

I would like to dedicate this weeks news post to a call for more modelers and texture artists. As you have seen through the recent release of the JEC Group shot, concept art is coming along very well. However, we do not have enough modelers in order to make those concepts into 3D models.

For those of you who are not yet informed about Curse, here is some information.

Curse draws you into a completely new universe, where there is no technology, but Magic. It's a program made in Java that let's you create custom characters, load backgrounds and save them to png files (without having the trouble to resize and loose quality). Well, we have run into a certain problem with planning OFS2 multiplayer. From what I've heard, Counter-Strike is Half-Life 2's only multiplayer. The problem is whether CS:Source is a separate game or built into Half-Life 2, which could cause problems with the way we design the mod.

Anyway, the OFSDemo 2 is having more problems than ever with maps. I won't go into it but it has stopped me dead. I cant move on until I fix the problem. But expect some screens soon. I'll keep you posted!

Oh, and if you're a coder and you are extremely bored, we lost our old coder and need someone to fix some bugs in the beta build. God, what a week!

I just recently interviewed Neo_ad from Stargate: Broken Oath, an upcoming mod for the HL2 engine. It is an indepth interview so check it out.
They are also looking for some skinners to join their team.
Half-Life Gaming: Sum up the story line of your mod in about 2 paragraphs.
Neo_ad: For anyone that’s not familiar with the Stargate TV show, The Stargate is a round portal that can instantaneously transport an object from one point in space to another by generating an artificial wormhole. A wormhole is created between any two Stargates when one Stargate dials the address of another Stargate. A Stargate uses 6 of 38 symbols, representing star constellations, to locate another Stargate and then uses a final 7th symbol, unique to each Stargate, as its point of origin.

We are basing it around season 7 and 8 of the Stargate SG1 TV show, so you can expect to see familiar locations and people that make Stargate what it is today. Keeping the same action and realism you see in all the Stargate episodes.

Half-Life Gaming: Do you plan on basing this more on Stargate SG1 or Stargate: Atlantis? And Why?
Neo_ad: We are only planning to base our MOD around Stargate SG1 at the moment as we don’t really know enough about Atlantis yet in fact people in the UK haven’t even seen it yet :). We don’t have long in the UK to wait for it now, so at some point in the future when we are all up to speed with Atlantis we will be including it in the MOD.

We've got a relatively-big announcement for everyone: We now have a new member on the team, the extremely talented (and unusually-named) skinner Another_Asswipe! He's made a great skin for Blade's newly-constructed Machete, and I can't wait to see his new skins.

With Half-Life 2's release on the horizon, this will hopefully become a weekly update. Until then, we'll run through all the content we can create without the HL2 SDK, so don't expect any character models, level screenshots or trailers until HL2 has been released.

Finally got the kinks out of the 2 system updates that I wanted to share with everyone. First is the Economy Systems Update and 2nd is the Character IFF System , IFF meaning Idfentify Friend or Foe.
Economy System - This update will give depth on how the economy will work in SWE, mostly surrounding crafters because this is where 85% of the money is tossed around in an MMO.

IFF System - This update will give depth on how PVPING, bounties, and plain old spray firing will work in-game since this is a FPS(twitch) game and not a normal RPG type.
I hope these are some good informative updates for you all. If you have any feedback please respond in the main sites forums, or maybe a few comments in the mod profile.

Also on another note I was finally able to fix the site and the screenshot links work properly now. I just need to fix the current information area, the speicies, game info and one other info system have been lost and reverted to their old text. So that should be fixed by next update!
