We haven't been updating our ModDB profile for a very long time, but we've been all the more busy working on new content. I have removed all outdated media, updated our profile with all our media (tons of new stuff compared to our old profile), and updated our Help Wanted requests. Shame on us, I know, but we'll update our profile more often now :).

For those that haven't seen our media yet, maybe some of our work so far:

Update 1 of 3 - Character models. We've added 2 new player model previews; the Civilian Leader and the Governor Soldier, along with a taster of the skin for the Governor Leader showing a fully textured head, angle shots and an animation.

This will be the first of 3 recent updates to the site. Stay tuned for more over the coming days, and in the run up to the launch of Half-Life 2.

Half-Life Fallout reports the news that several reply's, by Valve employees, on the Steam forums suggest that a backup option, for backing up Steam cash files, games etc, will be added to Steam in the nearby future. This is of course great news for those who buy and play games via Steam and not wanting to download everything over and over after a cleanup of their PCs. Here some quotes:

In the near future you will be able to make a CD Backup of your games.

Also, yep there will be a DVD-sized option for the Backup feature too. It's not going to actually burn the discs, but it will create a self-extracting archive that is broken up into the appropriate-size files.

The entire topic on this can be found here at the Steam forums.

This is the deal, I have tried to make the site big- but cannot spend the time doing it any longer. We have a few regulars, and I apprechiate that; bottom line is I'm a busy person. I am working with Borg Wars as a weapons modeler, so any free time I get will more then likely go to that. This site is up for grabs. If you wish to maintain/add on to Game-Jack, please email me at SmackedUpChild@hotmail.com. Please include past experiance and some examples of your work. Its been fun guys. But I am offically turning in my hat.

HL2Files.com reported the following great news, a Half-Life 2 DeathMatch mod is in development:

Although VALVe has not included Half-Life 2 Deathmatch in their product line up; HLDM fanatics who feel they have been let down can now rejoice!

Malfunction Studios is behind the project.

Although there will be no major advances in the project until Half-Life 2 is released; there have been some details confirmed by the team.

Quote:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We the Team will be playing all the old HLDM maps and deciding on their favorite 3. Then everyone will vote and the top 3-5 will be converted and updated for the first release. Along with those maps there will be the team's, and the communities's favorite HL2 areas converted for MP. We'll also try to throw a bunch of 'party' maps in the first realease - IBroadsideI
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, we will be seeing old HLDM maps converted to source in the first release.

PlanetHalfLife reports that IGN has put online the trailer of The_Famely_Guy's next Counter-Strike movie called ClanWars. Here some words about the movie:

This is the trailer for the anticipated counter-strike film, ClanWars. The story follows two opposing teams: one being an unstoppable clan, and the other being a group of unskilled wannabes. High powered explosions and unthinkable antics occur when convential clan tactics are met with unconvential noob-warfare.

You can get the trailer, of this sure to be great movie, here at FilePlanet.
